Who is Eligible for NEET UG Round 2?
Round 2 fulfils the following.
- MCC allocates seats to candidates who did not receive a seat in Round 1.
- Candidates who are eligible for upgradation as per MCC rules can also apply.
Candidates who did not receive a seat in Round 1 are not required to register again for Round 2. They can participate in Round 2. However, candidates who registered in Round 1 for the first time are required to register again in Round 2. Candidates who were offered a seat in Round 1 must also confirm their Round 1 seat and change/close Round 1 seat allocation as per their wish list. MCC conducts the counselling process for 15% All India Quota seats and the participating institutions/categories. Seat counselling for remaining AIQ and state quota seats is then conducted by the respective state counselling authorities. The MCC website contains the official notification for the revised UG schedules and the information bulletin for Round 2 of AIQ and state counselling.

Choice Filling Is Where Candidates Need to Slow Down
The hard part comes after registration. Before finalising any choice, candidates ought to examine the seat matrix carefully. They should also check the course, college, category, and the applicable eligibility criteria. Round 2 for the seat matrix has been scheduled by the MCC before registration on the 1st and 2nd of September. A pragmatic approach is to segregate choices into three groups: colleges that candidates strongly prefer; realistic colleges based on the candidate’s rank and category; and colleges that are safe. The order should be in the preference of the candidates.
What Happens after Choice Filling?
The Round 2 seat allotment will be done by MCC on the 9th and 10th of September. The results will be out on the 11th of September, 2026. Candidates who have been allotted seats must report at the indicated colleges from the 12th to the 18th of September. Candidates who have already taken admission must report for verification on the 19th of September.
It is advised that candidates keep their documents and instructions for admission ready, issued by MCC and the respective colleges, as failure to do so may result in candidates losing their seat allocation.
